St Patrick’s Day Parade Des Moines 2025

Overview

Great opportunity to share the gospel and distribute tracts at the St. Patrick’s Day parade in downtown Des Moines. We will have several St Patrick’s Day tracts and million dollar bills available to distribute. We will provide training before the events by Jon Noyes of Stand To Reason. After training and a time of prayer, we will gather together downtown on the parade route (link below) to engage in conversation with many before and during the parade.

The outreach will be held along the parade route, before and ahead of the parade. The parade begins at noon, we will meet at the parade route to being tract distribution at 11:00 am.

Schedule

March 17, 2025
8:30 am Welcome
Stop in before things start for coffee and doughnuts and to get to know your fellow volunteers.
9:00 am The Truth About Relativism Jon Noyes
We live in a relativistic world. One in which truth has become secondary to feelings and pleasure. During this talk, Jon will explain the history of relativism and show how it's become the prominent belief in our culture, influencing all areas of life, including morality and even the church. He then offers some tools that help others see what's wrong with relativism and why it doesn't accurately reflect the world around us.
11:00 am - 1:00 pm Parade Tract Distribution
We will meet at the parade route about an hour before it begins. Beginning with prayer, then break up into small teams to distribute tracts and share the gospel ahead of the parade. After the parade, we will gather back together for sharing and encouragement. The parade begins at noon.

Jon Noyes (Stand To Reason)

Jon has worked as a speaker with Stand to Reason since 2019. A former atheist, Jon used to think belief in God was unwarranted and irresponsible. Then, after examining the evidence for Christianity he was faced with the fact that Jesus is who He says He is and the Christian worldview tells the true story of reality. Ever since Jon has been passionate about engaging the culture with honest, well-thought-out reasons why people should trust the Christian worldview.

Jon brings a unique perspective to his audiences and the Stand to Reason team, having more than ten years’ experience in the legal field. In 2013 Jon earned a master’s degree in Christian Apologetics from Biola University, graduating with honors. Jon is a founding pastor at Soli Deo Gloria Church. He also serves on the board of directors for Life Without Limbs and Bible Thinker. More than any of this Jon is the father of four daughters and the husband of Rheanna. They live in Ventura County, CA.
